Over the last 12 years Dr. Greenfield has presented over 50 public lectures, professional workshops and educational seminars on the topics of Internet Addiction, The Impact of Technology, Technology and Stress and other high-tech addictions, including Cybersex, Pornography, Gambling and Video and Computer Gaming. The Center for Internet and Technology Addiction is proud to announce collaborative efforts with Ms. Joni Siani, Film Producer, Instructor, and Author. Based on her groundbreaking book titled “Celling Your Soul: No App For Life”, Dr. David Greenfield and Ms. Siani offer this roundtable lecture series to educators, teachers, and students with the express goal of moving the conversation from “IS this a problem” to recognizing that “YES, this is a problem and here are solutions.” By engaging peer to peer narratives, we work with parents, teachers, and students to instill best practices for personal tech usage in school and home settings. Sexting, Cyberbulling, Social Media, Security, and the causes and affects of mental health issues stemming from our personal device usage are all addressed. Dr. Greenfield delivers the science, patient case studies, and statistics of how this becomes an affliction that needs mental health as well as medical health treatment, and we follow up with the exceptional concepts and solutions for prevention and resolution both Dr. Greenfield and Ms. Siani have found to be most effective.

Professional Training on Internet Addiction and Technology-Enabled Problems

This workshop is offered as a three hour and full day training for Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Mental health Professionals and Addictions Counselors in the assessment and treatment of on-line addictions. The workshop also covers the use and abuse of digital devices such as smartphones, cell phones, video game consoles and portable gaming/music devices. Special attention will be paid to the most common forms of Internet and Digital problems, such as sex (including pornography and cybersex), gaming (including MMPORG’s, game consoles and handheld devices) and on-line gambling. Other issues to be covered will include shopping, auctioning, excessive emailing and compulsive surfing.

SafetyNet (R) Community Educational Programs

A program designed to educate parents, teachers and educators on Internet, computer, and digital technology abuse and safety. Topics include:

Education of parents and guardians on all the current digital technologies. Avoid having your children know more than you do!
How to protect children and adolescents from potentially dangerous or harmful situations.
How to set and enforce appropriate limits and boundaries on all Screen Technologies – cell phones, music players, computers, IM/Text and portable gaming devices.

The Business of Technology

This program is designed to educate employers and managers on the issues associated with the use and abuse of all digital technologies, including the Internet, smartphones and other similar devices. Special attention will be paid to managing technology abuse and addiction, EAP considerations and educational and preventative measures to decrease Internet and computer abuse in the workplace.
